Illya Pavlov is a Ukrainian design artist who explores the reconnection of Ukrainian visual DNA using contemporary means. His work bridges the achievements of the Ukrainian avant-garde with the nation’s rich visual traditions, deeply rooted in folk art. With an artistic background shaped by the Kharkiv school of photography, his practice embraces an ironic post-context approach, questioning the boundary between object and subject within a work. His projection-based posters, operating at the intersection of performance and photographic experimentation, open new dimensions for typographic and graphic interventions—where context itself becomes an integral part of the medium.
