Alpenglow IX - Styria meets Serbia

Alpenglow IX - Styria meets serbia

ALPENGLOW IX – Styria meets Serbia is an international New and Improvised Music summit mixing leading players from Styria in Austria with a wide range of top-draw musicians from Serbia. Embracing a true spirit of experimentation, this weekend of performances will
mix many artists who, until now, have never shared a stage together to create unexpected and unpredictable results.

Alpenglow IX takes place in Novi Sad. Jasna Jovićević and Milana Zarić, two of the leading figures in improvised music in Serbia and the board of The Styrian Association for New and Imprivised Music, have selected the artists performing over the weekend.

The event will bring together 26 players, drawn from across the spectrum of current approaches to improvised music performance in small group contexts and a large improvising orchestra called STYSIO (Styrian and Serbien Improvisers Orchestra) in the finale of the two days event.

Alpenglow is produced by Collective for promotion of contemporary music Studio 6 and the Styrian Association for New and Improvised Music (STANIM). Artistic directors of Alpenglow IX are Milana Zarić, Jasna Jovićević and the board of STANIM. Two concerts are part of the permanent concert series 2K+, curated by Svetozar Nešić. Other main partner in the project is the Student Cultural Centre of Novi Sad, who genereously offered their brand new hall for these events.
