Born in 1957 in Austria. Raised in the mountains of Styria (district of Austria/Europe). As child lessons in wooden flute and accordeon. As teenager playing guitar and electric bass guitar in the style of rock and pop. At the ages of seventeen turn to Jazz. 1978 at the age of twenty moving to Graz (capital of the district Styria) and working on the studies of technical chemistry and classical double bass.
Working with the Symphony Orchestra of Graz. Playing with ethnic music groups combining the Austrian folk music and the typical Alpine Austrian singing (“jodeling”) with ethnic music styles from all over the world especially Africa, Balkan and styles as jazz, rock, pop, funk etc.
Concerts in whole Europe, USA and Canada. Concerts with free jazz and avant-garde ensembles. Studio musician on many records. Compositions for film and theatre.
From 1995 on playing bass-solo-concerts
1995-1996 working with the world famous keyboard-player Joe Zawinul live and on records
2003 founding his own folkjazzquartett and chamberquartett playing his own compositions
From 2004 on working with the Japanese Butohdancemaster Ishii Mitsutakas
2005 portrait concerts as a composer in Vienna and other cities in Austria
